A trip to the zoo is always a treat for the whole family and the Cape May County Zoo is no exception! There are over 150 species of animals, many endangered, all handsomely displayed in the most modern, impeccably kept facilities available. Some of the most popular exhibits include: ring-tailed lemurs, golden-lion tamarins, the cougar family, playful black bears (wait until you see them in their pool!), the aldabra tortoises and Charlie the Camel (he loves an audience!). The Reptile House is also a favorite with visitor housing gila monsters, turtles, alligators and a variety of other reptiles and fish.

One of the newest and most enjoyable parts of a zoo tour is the expansiveAfrican Savannah. As you follow the bridged trail through the dense vegetation, you will catch sight of wild cats, bison, zebras, emus, ostrich, giraffes and a variety of other wildlife.

The Park also has a pond for fishing, as well as playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, hiking trails, picnic facilities (by reservation only) Wonderful opportunities for fun!

The Cape may County Park and Zoo is open year round to visitors and is a FREE recreational facility. Donations are gratefully accepted.

The Park is accredited by the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums and was recently honored for it’s participation in the “Wetlands of International Importance” Program.
